Abstract

ThealarmbellskeepringingonthematterofbuildingcollapseinNigeria.OnFebruary02,2023atwo storeybuilding under constructioncollapsedatGwarimpa,Abuja.OnApril 12, 2023,a sevenstoreybuilding under constructionat Banana Island collapsed killing one person. On April22, 2023 a block of flats collapsedintheSangoPolicebarracksatIbadan,OyoStatewithmanytrapped.Aone storeyhotelannex buildingcollapsedatUdu,Warri onThursdayApril 27,2023.

Itistherefore clearthatsafetyisnot guaranteedinsidemanybuildingsinNigeria.Therootcauseofthis persistentcollapsesis deeply investigatedwithsolutions profferedin thispaper.
