Abstract

Public health, particularly mental health, are central axes of discussion around human and local development.In thissense, crime not onlycompromisescivil security, but also affects the development of dementia in older adults.The present study aimedto demonstrate the reliability and validity of an instrument to establish a multidimensional construct of fear of crime and to discussthe leadership of the State in matters of citizen emotional well-being.A cross-sectional and correlational study was carried out with a non-probabilistic sample of 208 older adults.The results show that the risk perception and control factors they
explain 63% of the variance compared to 37% of the variance that explained the attitude towards corruption,negligence and opacity of the authorities.The perception of control (0.81) was the preponderant indicator in
the model of reflex dependency relationsbefores[?2= 14.12 (15 gl) p <0.000;GFI = 0.975;CFI =0.970;RMSEA = 0.001].
